Overall, it's more risky, but more versatile and the base-level production quality is as good as Albion, so between the two, East West takes the cake, imo. The woodwinds are infamously poor and inconsistent. But for all it's restrictions it's very good quality and recorded in Air Lyndhurst where many Hollywood scores are recorded.Įast West Hollywood is more realistic but has some of the problems of the previous East West Symphonic Orchestra, inconsistency, the Play Engine being poorer than Kontakt, wetness of the recordings, etc. This restricts writing with them and it's not a realistic approach, so it's more of a sketch or soundtrack/trailer library. The ensembles are also in (using brass as example but applies to all instrument groups of the orchestra) "Brass Low/High"-sections instead of "Trumpets/Horns/Trombones/Tubas". Albion only has ensembles, no solo instruments.
